Privacy at Barbaro

Information you provide

You can browse public pizzas and use the pizza and dough tools without an account. When you sign in to save, we use your email address to send a sign-in code and manage your account. Your profile includes a display name and initials, which you can edit on the Account page.

We store the pizzas, dough formulas, notes, photos, recipe versions, lineups and saved Library views you choose to save. We also record certain signed-in interactions, such as recent pizza activity, to support features like Recent Finds. If you contact Jeff, your message and contact details are used to respond.

Information collected as you use the site

Our hosting and service providers receive technical information needed to deliver the site, such as your IP address, browser information and requests. Barbaro records sign-in activity and some sign-in errors, including the page path and browser information, to understand usage and troubleshoot access.

We use Google Analytics to understand visits and how people use the website. It can collect page URLs, interactions, device and browser information, and cookie or similar identifiers. Google processes this information under its applicable policies. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Your browser also stores sign-in information, draft state, settings and cached Library data so the site can remember your work. Clearing site storage can sign you out and remove unsaved drafts or local preferences. Saved account data is separate from that browser storage.

Who receives information

We use service providers to operate Barbaro:

• Netlify hosts the website and runs website services.
• Supabase handles accounts, database records and stored photos.
• Google Analytics provides usage measurement.
• Resend delivers account-activity email notifications to Barbaro's owner. These notifications can include an account email address and sign-up or verification activity.
• Google Fonts and jsDelivr supply some fonts and website software. Your browser contacts these providers when it requests those resources.

The owner can access information needed to operate the site and respond to support or privacy requests. Providers process information to supply their services. They may process it in countries other than where you live.

Sharing recipes and using assistants

Sharing a recipe or lineup makes the information included in that share available to people who can open its link. Your display name, recipe details and selected photos may be included. People can copy or forward what you share; removing the original does not recall copies they already made.

Public pages can be read by search engines and AI assistants. If you give an assistant a share link or send it recipe information, that assistant's provider also handles the information under its own terms and privacy policy. Public catalog connections do not give access to your account or private Library.

Private Dough connections

A separate private Dough connection requires ordinary Barbaro sign-in and your explicit permission. You choose the named recipes and whether the connected app may read them, propose new recipes or propose new versions. New recipes and versions saved with your approval join that connection under the permissions you chose. Formula inputs, recipe names, notes, quantities and save results for permitted recipes can be sent to the connected assistant. Photos, other Library items and account details are excluded.

Access lasts up to seven days. You can remove it in Account at any time; signing out of the original Barbaro session also ends its authority. Every save requires a separate review in Barbaro. An approval alone does not save a recipe. A committed save returns an ordinary Library record. Removing access preserves saved recipes but stops new reads and saves. It cannot recall information already received by the assistant's provider.

Proposals expire after ten minutes. Expired or cancelled proposal bodies are removed within twenty-four hours. Minimal save receipts and operation history are retained for thirty days to support retries and account history, then removed. This history contains operation names, identifiers and times, not prompts, formulas, photos or credentials. Saved recipes follow the ordinary Library retention described above. Deleting your account removes its private connection state. Assistant providers may retain their own copies under their policies.

Information sent to an assistant

Catalog requests include the endpoint and search or filter parameters you send. Keep passwords, sign-in codes, access tokens and private recipe information out of public search requests.

When a supporting assistant invokes the Build page tool, it receives the displayed build title, selected ingredient labels, including custom labels, balance meters and warnings. This can include unsaved edits. Eligible scratch builds and published house pizzas are supported. Library, lineup, share-link, administrator and guest-pizza contexts are excluded.

Calculation requests include formula inputs, custom flour labels or selected public ingredient identifiers. Results include quantities, warnings and source information. A calculator continuation link can include the formula in its URL fragment; anyone who receives the complete link can read those inputs.

Planning requests include the stages, duration ranges, time zone and target time you provide. Shopping requests include already-sized dough batches and supported public pizza references. These tools do not save plans or place orders. See the public assistant tool terms for their use and limits.

The assistant's provider handles information it receives under its own terms and privacy policy. Review that provider's controls before sending it information you want to keep private. Barbaro does not control copies already received by another service.

Website and service providers receive technical request information needed to operate their services. Response caching settings do not describe everything a provider may log. The general provider and retention explanations in Barbaro's privacy notice apply; no separate universal retention period is promised for agent requests.

How long information stays

Saved account information is retained to provide your account and Library until you remove it or delete your account. Account deletion removes the account, its associated saved Library records and registered private uploaded photos. Copies shared with other people, email correspondence, operational logs and provider backups may remain separately. Account deletion does not clear site storage on every device or automatically delete information already sent to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is currently set to retain event and user data for 14 months. New activity resets the user-data period. This setting does not limit the retention of standard aggregated reports. Other service logs and backups follow their applicable retention arrangements rather than one site-wide deletion deadline. Contact Jeff about information that remains outside your account.

Your choices

You can edit your display name and initials on the Account page, manage saved work in your Library, or use Delete account. Deletion cannot be undone through the website.

Your browser settings let you manage cookies and site storage. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers. Clearing cookies or using a private window alone does not necessarily stop Analytics collection.

Barbaro does not currently change its data collection in response to browser Do Not Track signals. Turning on Do Not Track does not turn off Google Analytics on this site. Third-party providers such as Google may collect information about activity over time and across websites that use their services, under their own policies linked above.

You can email Jeff to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or ask about other privacy choices. We may need to verify your identity before acting on an account request. Rights and available choices depend on where you live.

Changes to this notice

When Barbaro's data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. A new feature's data use or permissions will be explained where you use it.
